December is a festive month… From marriage anniversaries to Birthdays, it is a month where wine and dine meet together frequently. We too had one such occasion where celebrated, but more than that, experimented, with food. My junior had a school night camp and to beat the lonliness, we decided to have an experitential dinner with friends…
The occasion… my Pre birthday party…
The venue… A restaurant having a unique name and a unique menu specially in the city where i currently reside…
Lollo Rosso… a name which demands the scroll of the pages of oxford dictionary or Thesaurus.com, which I did..
The meaning: A variety of lettuce..
Loacted where most of the good restaurants are now these days.. The Sindhu Bhavan road.
The ambience was impressive… Well lit and optimum usage of space…
Complimenting the name was the menu with lots of toungue twisters arranged in a manner which had to be deciphered…
From Soups to Sushi.. Meal bowls to platters… Dim Sums to Desserts… one could work up an appetite, literally…
We settled down and ordered Khowsuey soup… the taste of Coconut
was dominant but as a novice, it cant be critiqued
We ordered couple of meal bowls… Strogonav bowl and Greek bowl.
Lots of Paneer , Mushrooms, veggies,etc etc and the Lettuce.
Good but the serving portions could have been a little large…
The ladies were down and out with the Greeks but the men continued and ordered a Fajita bowl…
Could have been avoided as it was a bit weird in taste…
Overall I would rate 4 out of 5 for the food taste and ambience.
Service 5 out of 5 because the captain was very helpful. He understood that we are the dal roti types so he too took good care of us.
Not too heavy on the wallet too…
Would recommend this place to all. A nice break from Pastas and the pizzas…
